A surprising day with your girlfriend

You just met your friends again.
The wise Leona, her cute white dragon, your girlfriend Rea and even the wizard.

You were happy to see them, but most of them already left again.
Only your girlfriend Rea is still with you.

Together with her you're currently approaching the palace.
She still has things to do there.

Soon you reach the palace wall.
The palace is very huge. It consists of multiple buildings, all surrounded by this recteangular wall.
You still have to walk for a while to reach the entry.

So you're walking along the wall with Rea and casually talk to her.
Rea seems especially lucky today.
Is it just because she was able to see her friends again?
Or might it be because of you?

Where exactly do we even go?

Rea giggles.

Oh, the wedding will start soon. And we have to be there in time.

What wedding is she talking about?
You don't remember anything about a wedding.
You just came here to meet your friends again.
You must have missed something...

But she seems really enthusiastic.
Whose wedding could be so exciting for her?
You can't think of a single person. Especially nobody from this place.

Suddenly you have an idea. You don't even dare to say it out loud.
You really would like to ask her.
You want to ask if you are about to marry her.

Of course this can't be the case. That's just too absurd.
If it was the case, you would definitely know.
But if it actually is the case, it would be too embarassing to admit, you didn't know of it.

Still, maybe you can find something out.
Maybe you can come up with some questions without revealing your thoughts...

Do you know who else will be there?

Not exactly. It's a public wedding.
It's not like anyone can be excluded.
Besides that you should know.

It's not like you planned the wedding together, so she probably just told you who would marry today, and you forgot.
So it must be a person you know well.

Maybe the wizard?
No, he doesn't have any friends. And he wouldn't ever marry anyone, especially at his age.
At least you would actually know the guests on his side. So basically just you and Rea.
But no, it can't be him.

Or is she talking about the time when she was talking about her marriage?
Both of you were still very young.
She really went into detail.
She probably also told you about all her guests, but you don't remember.

So will your family be there?

I'm not sure about that. They wanted to come, too.
It's really important to them after all.
But they're not living close to this place.

This wedding is important to her family?
Oh, this sounds serious.

But maybe you're just getting it wrong.
They'll probably just have some friend here.
It's a friend of her and her family.
Or maybe even one of her family members, who also lives here.
Yeah, that would make a lot of sense.

You really don't know as much of her as you would like to...

As you're entering the castle area through the wall, you're still a little worried though.
You have to come with a question which forces her to give a clear answer.

I'm really getting excited about the wedding.
But I'm wondering, how do you imagine our life together after we get married?

I guess it should be fine.

After we get married?
I don't think much will change.
But I hope our ways won't part again, so we'll be able to go on adventures together.
Oh, and I'm glad you remember our vow.

You actually promised her to get married the next time you meet.
She must be talking about that.
But she wouldn't just plan the wedding when the time has come.
You thought, you would spend some time with her and maybe plan the marriage after a few months.
She's just talking about future events, right?

Oh, it's worthless. You won't find out anything that way.
You'll just play along. Your worries are probably unjustified.
Marrying her just now would be too crazy.

Soon you enter the palace.
You end up in a huge hall with a lot of chairs.
Other people are already sitting there.
So the two of you just take two random empty seats.

Everybody is staring forward.
In front of us there are a few dignified people who must work for the palace.
They are standing at an elegant desk and prepare some documents.

So it's not a real celebration, but more like an official wedding.

Suddenly Rea gets up.
She's standing next to you reaching out her hand to you.

Come on, it's not such a big deal.
I know you've never really been into this, but let's just do it.
As a stranger, that's important if you want to spend more time in this region.

You get up and follow her towards the desk.
You sit down at the desk, Rea sits down next to you.

Each of you has a enourmous paper in front of you.
It must be some marriage document.

One of the guys gets closer to you.

Just fill everything in.
You know how to write, right?

He must have really bad prejudices about your culture...
But no need to think about that.
You'll just fill it out, and it's done, right?

You look at the paper.
A lot of empty fields are on this paper.
The amount of information that has to be entered is enourmous.
You have no idea what most of these fields even mean.

For example this one. The god of your realm?
You have no idea. You're not even sure if your realm has a god. You wouldn't even call your home a realm...

But then you notice something.
This field has already been filled in.
This one and even some more.
You're so glad about this.

So you try to fill in the remaining fields on your own.
Sometimes when you aren't sure, you look towards Rea.
She's still busy with filling everything in. And most of it would be different to what you have to fill in.

You also look towards the guy, but you don't dare to ask.
It's almost like a written exam. When thinking about it, you're glad, you didn't have many of them when you were younger.
But now more experience would be helpful.

Anyway, you just fill in something which seems reasonable to you.
If they knew all the information, they would probably have filled it in themselves anyway.
So if you make a small mistake, they probaly won't notice.
If your entries look confident, they will just believe you.
At least that's your hope...

So when everything is filled in, the guys take the papers.
It's a little noisy now, so you feel comfortable to talk to Rea.

Hey, what's going on?

They will just check the documents, and if everything is okay, we'll get the documents, including your residence document.

Okay, then I guess I should wait...

You keep sitting there for some minutes.
And after a while the guys come back.

So now you're officially a couple.
Get up to receive your documents.

Rea gets up and so do you.

Does this mean, you are actually married now?
It sounds like it, but it's still confusing.

She turns to the guy and takes a stack of documents.

Thank you very much!

Rea looks it through and gives me one of the documents.

Don't lose it! Without it you're not allowed to walk around without company.

I know. I'll explain everything to him.

It must be the residence document.

Then it's over. You can now leave.

You follow Rea through the corridor of chairs and the guests smile at you.

Outside you look for a bench and sit down.

So this is over now. I'm glad, it worked out so well. You know, they're usually are a little biased against strangers.

So are you really married now? You don't dare to ask.

Yeah, I'm glad, too.

I wasn't able to invite all the guests I wanted, but we promised each other.
It was the first possible date, where both of us are old enough.

Oh, now you remember something.
It was years ago. You were still young. You told each other, once you're old enough, you'd immediately get married.

Looks like she took this a little too serious...

Oh, and now I got something else for you.
It just seems appropriate.

She holds her hand behind your head.
Then, as you look at each other, her face comes closer and she actually gives you a kiss.
You kiss each other for multiple seconds.

When she finishes, you look at her in surprise.
She just smiles at you.

So I guess we won't part ways again and have an adventure together.

She must have known that I didn't know anything about the marriage.

Yeah, that sounds like fun.
But for now let's go to my place, and... you know.

She smirks at you.
